{"id":10000,"date":"2017-06-11T23:57:19","date_gmt":"2017-06-11T23:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mazdaman.x10host.com\/sm353673\/"},"modified":"2017-06-11T23:57:19","modified_gmt":"2017-06-11T23:57:19","slug":"sm353673","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/chroot-me.in\/16ND\/sm353673\/","title":{"rendered":"FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) AIMING"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node node SERVICE_MANUALS\">\n    <\/p>\n<div class=\"textleft\">\n<div class=\"attr CONTENT c2\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n          <link rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text\/css\" href=\"style.css\" media=\"screen\"><a class=\"prevPage\" href=\"SM353672\">&lt; Previous<\/a> <a class=\"nextPage\" href=\"SM353674\">Next &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>2016 &#8211; MX-5 &#8211; i-ACTIVSENSE<\/h2>\n<p><a name=\"id152000002300\" id=\"id152000002300\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) AIMING<\/h3>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The forward sensing camera (FSC) aiming procedure stores the camera shot angle in the FSC by reading a target used for aiming into the FSC.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Perform the FSC aiming if any of the following procedure is performed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>FSC replacement<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>FSC clip replacement<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Windshield replacement<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>\n<p>If an obstruction on the windshield or camera lens is blocking the scene in front of the vehicle, the target used for aiming cannot be read-in and aiming will not be performed correctly. Perform the following procedure before performing the aiming.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Verify that there is no water, dirt or sticker adhesion on the windshield, and that there is nothing on the camera lens such as dust or soiling.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id15200000230001\" id=\"id15200000230001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Aiming procedure<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Empty the vehicle by having all occupants leave the vehicle and remove all the cargo except for the spare tire, jack and tools.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Adjust the air pressure of each tire to the specified value. (See <a href=\"SM352857\">WHEEL AND TIRE SPECIFICATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Move the vehicle to level ground.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the setting surface height and angle between the vehicle and the target differs, correct FSC aiming cannot be done. Perform the FSC aiming with the vehicle and target setting surface on level ground.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005565.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005565.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            4. Verify that there are no obstructions such as metal objects in the shaded areas shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the FSC aiming is performed with obstructions such as white and black patterned objects or reflective metal in the shaded areas, the FSC will determine such obstructions as targets and the FSC aiming procedure will not be performed correctly. Move all obstructions away from the shaded areas, and when performing the aiming, do not have personnel standing in the shaded areas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005566.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005566.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Perform the DTC inspection for the FSC using the M-MDS and verify that no DTCs other than B115E:54 are displayed. (See <a href=\"SM353567\">DTC INSPECTION [FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Because DTC B115E:54 is output if aiming is not performed, continue to perform the FSC aiming only if DTC B115E:54 is output. (See <a href=\"SM353569\">DTC TABLE [FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6. Adjust the SST (plum-bob) so that it is aligned with the center of the brand emblem, determine the center position at the front of the vehicle, and mark the center position (point A) on the floor surface.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005567.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005567.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The center of the brand emblem indicates the center position of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            7. Adjust the SST (plum-bob) so that it is aligned with the center of the brand emblem, determine the center position at the rear of the vehicle, and mark the center position (point B) on the floor surface.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005568.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005568.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The center of the brand emblem indicates the center position of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            8. Secure the end of the leveling line over point B.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Use a commercially-available leveling line.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005569.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005569.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            9. Pull the unsecured end of the leveling line over the vehicle and to the front and adjust it so that it passes over point A.<\/p>\n<p>            10. Mark the line (position C) at the point <b>50 cm {20 in}<\/b> from point A and in the direction forward of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005570.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005570.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            11. Mark the points (points D and E) <b>35 cm {14 in}<\/b> from point C on the line which runs perpendicular to the vehicle center line.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005571.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005571.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            12. Pull the connected points D, C and E lines (target setting line).<\/p>\n<p>            13. Print out 2 sheets of the following target paper without using scaling.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the target sheets cannot be printed, follow the dimensions shown in Step 15 to make target sheets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC5WZW00003142.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC5WZW00003142.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            14. Cut the printed target sheets along the dotted line and line up the two sheets at their respective center marks as shown in the figure, and then affix cellophane tape to the back of the target.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When taping the two target sheets together, if cellophane tape is affixed to the front of the target sheets it could reflect light and adversely affect the aiming accuracy. When taping the two target sheets together, affix the cellophane tape to the back of the target pattern.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC5JJW00000715.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC5JJW00000715.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            15. Verify that the taped-together target is of the dimensions shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC5WZW00003264.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC5WZW00003264.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            16. Affix double-sided adhesive tape to the back of the target.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When affixing the target, if tape is affixed to the front of the target it could reflect light and adversely affect the aiming accuracy. When affixing the target, affix the double-sided adhesive tape to the back of the target, and then affix it to the board.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            17. Align the target to the height shown in the figure, and affix it to a board.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Use a wooden board which does not reflect light to affix the target.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00012293.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00012293.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            18. Align the center of the target with point C using the SST (plum bob).<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005572.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005572.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            19. Align so that the board and the target setting line are level with the center of point C.<\/p>\n<p>            20. Connect the M-MDS (IDS) to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            21. After vehicle identification, the following can be selected from the M-MDS initialization screen.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>&#8220;Electrical&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>&#8220;FSC Aiming&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            22.
