Starter relay circuit malfunction<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Detection condition<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

  • \n

    Start stop unit detects that the starter relay circuit voltage of specification or more for 0.1 s or more<\/b> with the ignition switched off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Fail-safe<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Inhibits switching the ignition ON (engine off or on).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inhibits the engine start.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Disconnect the start stop unit connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is the connector normal?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n

  • \n

    Disconnect the PCM connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Is the connector normal?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n INSPECT STARTER RELAY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY<\/b><\/p>\n\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Start stop unit terminal 1D\u2014Starter relay terminal E<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Starter relay terminal E\u2014PCM terminal 2AZ<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Start stop unit terminal 2V\u2014Starter relay terminal A<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
      • \n

        Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

6<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS PCM DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY<\/b><\/p>\n\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.<\/p>\n
