    When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), it is detected that the remote transmitter is outside of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Push button start connector or terminal malfunction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Keyless receiver connector or terminal malfunction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Start stop unit connector or terminal malfunction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Start stop unit terminal 2Q\u2014Keyless receiver terminal A<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Remote transmitter battery power low<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Remote transmitter malfunction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Start stop unit malfunction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        If any of the following items are touching or near the remote transmitter, signal communication between the remote transmitter and the vehicle is negatively affected, resulting in the engine not starting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Spare keys<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Keys for other vehicles equipped with an immobilizer system<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Any metallic object<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Any electronic device, or any credit or other card with magnetic strips<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

\n INSPECT KEYLESS RECEIVER CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n

    Disconnect the keyless receiver connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is the connector normal?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT KEYLESS RECEIVER CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT<\/b><\/p>\n

    Verify that the start stop unit and keyless receiver connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Start stop unit terminal 2Q\u2014Keyless receiver terminal A<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Start stop unit terminal 2R\u2014Keyless receiver terminal B<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • \n

      Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Start stop unit terminal 2Q\u2014Keyless receiver terminal A<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Start stop unit terminal 2R\u2014Keyless receiver terminal B<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
      • \n

        Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Go to Step 9.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
