(See <a href=\"\"#id0902p602840001\">Troubleshooting Procedure<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If any of the following items are touching or near the remote transmitter, signal communication between the remote transmitter and the vehicle is negatively affected, resulting in the engine not starting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Spare keys<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Keys for other vehicles equipped with an immobilizer system<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Any metallic object<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Any electronic device, or any credit or other card with magnetic strips<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Radio wave outputting device nearby<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0902p602840001\" id=\"id0902p602840001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Troubleshooting Procedure<\/h4>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003734.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003734.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt><sup>*1<\/sup><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"c2\">\n              (See <a href=\"SM353553\">CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW<\/a>.)\n            <\/dd>\n<dt><sup>*2<\/sup><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"c2\">\n              (See <a href=\"\"#id0902p602840003\">DTC Inspection Note<\/a>.)\n            <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a name=\"id0902p602840002\" id=\"id0902p602840002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Action for Non-repeatable Malfunction<\/h4>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the malfunction does not recur, verify the malfunction cause by performing the following actions:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Verify that a DTC has been recorded in the memory. (See <a href=\"SM355944\">DTC INSPECTION [START STOP UNIT]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Based on the repair order form, attempt to drive the vehicle or perform tests to replicate the malfunction, record the data at that time, and detect the malfunction cause.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Shake the wiring harness or connector of the electrical component which is suspected to be the cause of the malfunction, and inspect for malfunction or occurrence of any DTCs.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AAXJJW00007274.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AAXJJW00007274.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Inspect the female terminals on the connector of the electric component which is suspected to be the cause of the malfunction for poor connection.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006484.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006484.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0902p602840003\" id=\"id0902p602840003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>DTC Inspection Note<\/h4>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When there is a malfunction in the immobilizer system, DTCs are recorded in the start stop unit and PCM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The DTCs stored in the start stop unit can be verified using the flashing pattern of the security indicator light and M-MDS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If immobilizer system related DTCs are not recorded even if the engine cannot be started, perform symptom troubleshooting.
