Always wear gloves when using piano wire.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09120000050001\" id=\"id09120000050001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Reusing Windshield<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Open the convertible top.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Wiper arm and blade (See <a href=\"SM356289\">WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Cowl grille (See <a href=\"SM356140\">COWL GRILLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. A-pillar trim (See <a href=\"SM356198\">A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Female wedge (See <a href=\"SM356161\">FEMALE WEDGE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              e. Front header trim (See <a href=\"SM356214\">FRONT HEADER TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              f. Windshield garnish (See <a href=\"SM356173\">WINDSHIELD GARNISH REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              g. A-pillar garnish (See <a href=\"SM356149\">A-PILLAR GARNISH REMOVAL<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM356150\">A-PILLAR GARNISH INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              h. Sensor cover (with FSC) (See <a href=\"SM356075\">SENSOR COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              i. Forward sensing camera (FSC) (with FSC) (See <a href=\"SM353670\">FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              j. Rain sensor (with auto light\/wiper system) (See <a href=\"SM356283\">RAIN SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              k. Rearview mirror (without auto-dimming rearview mirror) (See <a href=\"SM356065\">REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              l. Auto-dimming rearview mirror (with auto-dimming rearview mirror) (See <a href=\"SM356070\">AUTO-DIMMING REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Apply protective tape along the edge of the body.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Overlap and adhere the protective tape to the corners to prevent damage.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002963.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002963.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            5. Cut the tip of the piano wire diagonally.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002964.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002964.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The piano wire can penetrate the sealant easily by cutting its tip diagonally.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6. Pass the piano wire from the cabin side to the vehicle\u2019s outside through the sealant.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Carefully pass the piano wire so as not to damage the paint surface of the body.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002965.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002965.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            7. Install the piano wire to the piano wire grip.<\/p>\n<p>            8. Secure the piano wire on the outer side, and pull the wire on the cabin side in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to cut the windshield sealant.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Use a long sawing action to spread the work over the whole length of piano wire to prevent it from breaking due to localized heating.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002966.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002966.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            9. When reaching the pin, pull the piano wire out to go around the pin, then pass the piano wire through from the cabin side again.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002967.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002967.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Secure one end of piano wire, and while pulling the other end, cut the sealant around the windshield.<\/p>\n<p>            11. Pinch the pin from the inside of the vehicle and detach it.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Before removing the windshield from the body, mark the windshield by affixing tape to the windshield and body panel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09120000050002\" id=\"id09120000050002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Not Reusing Windshield<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Open the convertible top.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Wiper arm and blade (See <a href=\"SM356289\">WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Cowl grille (See <a href=\"SM356140\">COWL GRILLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. A-pillar trim (See <a href=\"SM356198\">A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Female wedge (See <a href=\"SM356161\">FEMALE WEDGE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              e. Front header trim (See <a href=\"SM356214\">FRONT HEADER TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              f. Windshield garnish (See <a href=\"SM356173\">WINDSHIELD GARNISH REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              g. A-pillar garnish (See <a href=\"SM356149\">A-PILLAR GARNISH REMOVAL<\/a>.) Cut out the sealant all around the glass using a sealant remover.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002968.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002968.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If it is difficult to cut sealant, use piano wire and follow the procedure under \u201cReusing Windshield\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6.
