Always wear gloves when using piano wire.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Remove the sealant and dams on the glass side along the entire perimeter of the glass using a utility knife. (When reusing the windshield)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Clean and degrease an approx. <b>50 mm {2.0 in}<\/b> wide strip along the perimeter of the windshield.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Inspect the glass for cracks. If it is cracked, chamfer it using sandpaper.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Apply the dams. (When reusing the windshield)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002969.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002969.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Apply primer to the area of the glass shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Follow the primer product instructions for the drying time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>To prevent weakening of the primer adhesion, keep the bonding surface free of dirt, moisture, and grease. Do not touch the surface with your hand.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Apply primer to the hollowed marks in the ceramic coating.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002970.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002970.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6. Cut away the old sealant using a utility knife so that <b>1\u20142 mm {0.04\u20140.07 in}<\/b> thickness of sealant remains along the perimeter of the frame.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AAXJJW00005152.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AAXJJW00005152.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Clean and degrease along the perimeter of the bonding area on the body.<\/p>\n<p>            8. Apply primer to the area of the body shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Using the dowel for applying primer, apply primer to the area shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To prevent weakening of the primer adhesion, keep the bonding surface free of dirt, moisture, and grease. Do not touch the surface with your hand.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002971.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002971.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            9. Apply sealant to the area of the glass surface as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002972.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002972.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Insert the positioning pins to the body and install the windshield.<\/p>\n<p>            11. Allow the sealant to harden completely.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Follow the sealant product instructions for the drying time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            12. Install the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Auto-dimming rearview mirror (with auto-dimming rearview mirror) (See <a href=\"SM356070\">AUTO-DIMMING REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Rearview mirror (without auto-dimming rearview mirror) (See <a href=\"SM356065\">REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. Rain sensor (with auto light\/wiper system) (See <a href=\"SM356283\">RAIN SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Forward sensing camera (FSC) (with FSC) (See <a href=\"SM353670\">FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              e. Sensor cover (with FSC) (See <a href=\"SM356075\">SENSOR COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              f. A-pillar garnish (See <a href=\"SM356149\">A-PILLAR GARNISH REMOVAL<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM356150\">A-PILLAR GARNISH INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              g. Windshield garnish (See <a href=\"SM356173\">WINDSHIELD GARNISH REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              h. Front header trim (See <a href=\"SM356214\">FRONT HEADER TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              i. Female wedge (See <a href=\"SM356161\">FEMALE WEDGE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              j. A-pillar trim (See <a href=\"SM356198\">A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              k. Cowl grille (See <a href=\"SM356140\">COWL GRILLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              l. Wiper arm and blade (See <a href=\"SM356289\">WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            13. Verify that the gaps between the A-pillar garnish and windshield, between the windshield garnish and windshield, and between the cowl grille and windshield are within the ranges shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002973.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002973.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            14. Connect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            15. If the rain sensor is replaced, perform the sensitivity setting procedure for the auto lights. (See <a href=\"SM356283\">RAIN SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            16.
