    If the fuse is blown:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between DEFOG 30 A fuse and rear window defogger relay terminals C and E.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
      • \n

        Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for short to ground to determine the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
        • \n

          Repair or replace the wiring harness which is shorted to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Replace the fuse.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n

        • \n

          If the fuse is damaged:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Replace the fuse.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • \n

            If the fuse is normal:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              \n
            • \n

              Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between positive battery terminal and rear window defogger relay terminals C and E.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
              • \n

                Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
                • \n

                  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Go to Step 10.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    \n INSPECT REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND OR OPEN CIRCUIT<\/b><\/p>\n
  • \n

    Install the rear window defogger relay.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Turn the rear window defogger switch on.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Measure the voltage at rear window defogger terminal 1A (vehicle wiring harness side).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is the voltage B+?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between rear window defogger relay terminals D and rear window defogger terminal 1A.<\/p>\n

    \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
  • \n

    Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for short to ground or open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which is shorted to ground or has an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      After repair procedure, go to Step 10.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    \n INSPECT BCM CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND OR OPEN CIRCUIT<\/b><\/p>\n

    Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Measure the voltage at BCM terminal 3K (vehicle wiring harness side).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is the voltage B+?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Replace the BCM, then go to the next step.<\/p>\n

(See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between BCM terminal 3K and rear window defogger relay terminal A.<\/p>\n

    \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
  • \n

    Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for short to ground or open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which is shorted to ground or has an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      After repair, go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
