2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

DOOR QUARTER GLASS REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Removal<\/h4>\n

1. Perform the door glass preparation. (See DOOR GLASS REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Door trim (See DOOR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Door module panel (See DOOR MODULE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Door glass (See DOOR GLASS REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Door speaker (See DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

4. Remove the service hole cover.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

5. Remove the nut (1).<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

6. Remove the nut (2).<\/p>\n

7. Remove the bolt.<\/p>\n

8. Remove the door quarter glass and the glass guide as a single unit.<\/p>\n

9. Mark the position of the door quarter glass lower end on the glass guide and position the door glass.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

10. Remove the bolts.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

11. Remove the door quarter glass from the glass guide.<\/p>\n

12. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Glass Guide Installation Note<\/a>.)
\n <\/a><\/p>\n

Installation<\/h4>\n

1. Move the door quarter glass in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and press it into the glass guide.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Align the door quarter glass lower end with the marking shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

3. Install the bolts.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

4. Insert the door quarter glass and the glass guide as a single unit into the door panel. (See Glass Guide Installation Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

5. Install the bolt.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

6. Install the nut (2).<\/p>\n

7. Install the nut (1).<\/p>\n

8. Install the service hole cover.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

9. Install the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Door speaker (See DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Door glass (See DOOR GLASS REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Door module panel (See DOOR MODULE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Door trim (See DOOR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

10. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)

Glass Guide Installation Note<\/h4>\n

1. If the wiring harness is routed incorrectly, the wiring harness may contact the door glass when opening\/closing the door glass, causing damage to the wiring harness. When routing the wiring harness, route it through the back side of the glass guide.<\/p>\n
