2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

PUSH BUTTON START REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Shift lever knob (MT)<\/p>\n

c. Shift panel component (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Parking brake lever boot panel (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

f. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

g. Front console panel (See FRONT CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

h. Front console component (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

i. Scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

j. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

k. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

l. Hood release lever (See HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

m. Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

n. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

o. Center panel No.1 (See CENTER PANEL No.1 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. While pressing the push button start tabs in the direction of the arrows (1) shown in the figure, and push out the push button start in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure to detach the push button start tabs from the center panel No.1.<\/p>\n

4. Remove the push button start.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
