2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH INSPECTION<\/h3>\n

1. Fully close the door glass.<\/p>\n

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Door trim (See DOOR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Door module panel (See DOOR MODULE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Door key cylinder (See DOOR KEY CYLINDER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Inner handle (See INNER HANDLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Door latch and lock actuator (See DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Door key cylinder switch lock-side inspection<\/h4>\n

1. Press in the latch lever of the door latch and lock actuator using a flathead screwdriver, and set it to the latched condition.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Rotate the door key cylinder in the direction of the arrow until it stops to set the door key cylinder switch to the locked condition.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

3. To verify that the switch is in the locked position, press down the rod holder in the direction of the arrow and verify that the latch lever does not move.<\/p>\n
