2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

SIDE STEP MOLDING REMOVAL<\/h3>\n

1. Remove the rear deflector. (with rear deflector) (See REAR DEFLECTOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Open the door.<\/p>\n

3. To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the positions shown in the figure.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

4. Remove the front mudguard No.2 fasteners and partially peel back front mudguard No.2.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

5. While pressing the side step molding clip in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, move the side step molding in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the side step molding clip from the body.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

6. Insert the remover tool into the slanted line areas shown in the figure, move it in the direction of the arrow and detach the side step molding clips from the body.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

7. Move the side step molding in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure while pulling both ends of the side step molding in the direction of arrows (1) to remove it.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

8. Remove the clips A and B from the body.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

9. Remove the fastener.<\/p>\n
