2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Shift lever knob (MT)<\/p>\n

c. Shift panel component (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Parking brake lever boot panel (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

f. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

g. Front console panel (See FRONT CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. Move the front console component in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the clip from the dashboard.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

4. Disconnect the auxiliary jack\/USB port connector. (without center display)<\/p>\n

5. Disconnect the auxiliary jack\/USB port\/SD card slot hub connector. (with center display)<\/p>\n

6. Disconnect the indicator unit connector.<\/p>\n

7. Remove the front console component.<\/p>\n

8. When replacing the front console, remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Auxiliary jack\/USB port (without center display) (See AUXILIARY JACK\/USB PORT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Auxiliary jack\/USB port\/SD card slot hub (with center display) (See AUXILIARY JACK\/USB PORT\/SD CARD SLOT HUB REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Indicator unit (See INDICATOR UNIT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

9. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
