2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

LICENSE PLATE LIGHT SHORT-CORD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Remove the trunk end trim. (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. Partially peel back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

4. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Rear splash shield (See REAR SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

c. Rear bumper stay (See REAR BUMPER STAY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Rear bumper retainer No.1 (See REAR BUMPER RETAINER No.1 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL<\/a>.) (See REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

5. Disconnect the connectors.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

6. Slide clips A in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull clips A in the direction of arrow (2) to detach clips A from the back-up light or the rear bumper.<\/p>\n

7. While pressing the clip B tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip B in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip B tabs from the back-up light.<\/p>\n

8. While pressing the clip C tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip C in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip C tabs from the rear bumper.<\/p>\n

9. While pressing the clip D tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip D in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip D tabs from the back-up light.<\/p>\n

10. Remove the license plate light short-cord.<\/p>\n

11. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
