{"id":10567,"date":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mazdaman.x10host.com\/sm356265\/"},"modified":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","slug":"sm356265","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/chroot-me.in\/16ND\/sm356265\/","title":{"rendered":"HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM INITIALIZATION"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node node SERVICE_MANUALS\">\n    <\/p>\n<div class=\"textleft\">\n<div class=\"attr CONTENT c2\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n          <link rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text\/css\" href=\"style.css\" media=\"screen\"><a class=\"prevPage\" href=\"SM356264\">&lt; Previous<\/a> <a class=\"nextPage\" href=\"SM356266\">Next &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>2016 &#8211; MX-5 &#8211; Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n<p><a name=\"id091800812200\" id=\"id091800812200\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM INITIALIZATION<\/h3>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The auto leveling control module\/AFS control module records the vehicle height in unoccupied condition by performing the headlight auto leveling system initialization.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Perform headlight auto leveling system initialization if any of the following services is performed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Auto leveling control module\/AFS control module replacement<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Auto leveling sensor replacement or removal\/installation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Any service which changes vehicle height, such as suspension replacement or removal\/installation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>\n<p>Two different procedures are available for the headlight auto leveling system initialization; one which uses the M-MDS, and one which does not.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09180081220001\" id=\"id09180081220001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Procedure Using M-MDS<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Perform Steps 5 and 6 within 30 s.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Empty the vehicle except for the jack and vehicle tools.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Adjust the tire pressure to the specification. (See <a href=\"SM352857\">WHEEL AND TIRE SPECIFICATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Move the vehicle to level ground.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            5. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The LED headlight warning light continues flashing during the first initialization, however, continue the work because it does not indicate an improper procedure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003342.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003342.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6. After vehicle identification, the following can be selected from the M-MDS initial screen.<\/p>\n<p>              a. &#8220;Electrical&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>              b. &#8220;ExteriorLighting&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>              c. &#8220;Headlamp&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>              d. &#8220;Auto Leveling Sensor&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>              e. &#8220;Auto Leveling Sensors Calibration&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>            7. Verify the LED headlight warning light.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The initialization is completed if the LED headlight warning light flashes three times every 0.25 s and turns off. Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00010640.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00010640.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the LED headlight warning light flashes at 0.25 s intervals, the procedure may have been performed incorrectly. Repeat the procedure from Step 5.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the LED headlight warning light flashes at 0.5 s intervals, the headlight auto leveling system may have a malfunction. Perform DTC inspection. (See <a href=\"SM353539\">DTC INSPECTION [AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353625\">DTC INSPECTION [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then repeat the procedure from Step 5.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            8. Adjust the headlight aiming. (See <a href=\"SM356242\">HEADLIGHT AIMING<\/a>.)<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id09180081220002\" id=\"id09180081220002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Procedure Not Using M-MDS<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Perform Steps 4 and 5 within 30 s.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Empty the vehicle except for the jack and vehicle tools.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Adjust the tire pressure to the specification. When connecting with the jumper wire, thoroughly verify what terminals are being connected to prevent a miss-connection.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004666.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004666.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            5. Using a jumper wire, connect DLC-2 terminals B and J (ground) three times at 0.5\u20141.5 s intervals as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p>            6. Verify the LED headlight warning light.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The initialization is completed if the LED headlight warning light flashes three times every 0.25 s and turns off. Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00010640.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00010640.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the LED headlight warning light flashes at 0.25 s intervals, the procedure may have been performed incorrectly. Repeat the procedure from Step 4.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the LED headlight warning light flashes at 0.5 s intervals, the headlight auto leveling system may have a malfunction.
