Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the wiper arm and blade. (See <a href=\"SM356289\">WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the cowl grille. (See <a href=\"SM356140\">COWL GRILLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Always apply protective tape to the windshield end. If the wiper motor and link contacts the windshield, it could damage the windshield.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            4. Apply protective tape to the area where the windshield end interferes with the wiper motor and link as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004669.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004669.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Disconnect the connector.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004670.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004670.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the bolts.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Pull out the wiper motor and link from the hook.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004671.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004671.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the wiper motor and link.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the gap between the wiper motor and the wiper link.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004672.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004672.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the wiper motor from the wiper link ball joint. (See <a href=\"\"#id09190009100001\">Ball Joint Assembly Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            11. Remove the bolts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004673.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004673.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            12. Remove the wiper motor from the wiper link.<\/p>\n<p>            13. Install in the reverse order of removal.<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id09190009100001\" id=\"id09190009100001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Ball Joint Assembly Note<\/h4>\n<p>            1.
