{"id":10604,"date":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mazdaman.x10host.com\/sm356302\/"},"modified":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:52","slug":"sm356302","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/chroot-me.in\/16ND\/sm356302\/","title":{"rendered":"CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node node SERVICE_MANUALS\">\n    <\/p>\n<div class=\"textleft\">\n<div class=\"attr CONTENT c2\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n          <link rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text\/css\" href=\"style.css\" media=\"screen\"><a class=\"prevPage\" href=\"SM356301\">&lt; Previous<\/a> <a class=\"nextPage\" href=\"SM356303\">Next &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>2016 &#8211; MX-5 &#8211; Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n<p><a name=\"id092000031100\" id=\"id092000031100\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The connectivity master unit (CMU) prior to replacement stores the vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A new CMU does not store any vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>When the ignition is switched ON after the CMU is replaced, the CMU reads the vehicle specification information sent via CAN transmission from the instrument cluster using the automatic configuration function, and stores it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The Bluetooth<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> pairing information recorded in the CMU cannot be written to a new CMU. Therefore, the Bluetooth<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> pairing information will be eliminated if the CMU is replaced. Before replacing the CMU, explain to the customer that the Bluetooth<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> pairing resetting is required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Scuff plate (passenger&#8217;s side) (See <a href=\"SM356211\">SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Front side trim (passenger&#8217;s side) (See <a href=\"SM356199\">FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. A-pillar trim (passenger&#8217;s side) (See <a href=\"SM356198\">A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Passenger-side lower panel (See <a href=\"SM356210\">PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              e. Center panel No.2 (See <a href=\"SM356182\">CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              f. Meter hood (See <a href=\"SM356188\">METER HOOD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              g. Center display component (See <a href=\"SM356304\">CENTER DISPLAY REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the screws.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002914.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002914.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Disconnect the connectors.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002915.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002915.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Pull out the wiring harness clip.<\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the CMU.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            8. When the CMU is replaced, perform the automatic configuration using the following procedure.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for <b>1 min or more<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>              b. Switch the ignition off and wait for 3 s or more.<\/p>\n<p>              c. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and complete the CMU automatic configuration.<\/p>\n<p>              d. Using the M-MDS, verify that DTC U2300:54 or U2300:55 is not displayed.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If DTC U2300:54 or U2300:55 is displayed, go to the DTC troubleshooting procedure.
