2016 – MX-5 – Body and Accessories<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

AUXILIARY JACK\/USB PORT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n

a. Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

b. Shift lever knob (MT)<\/p>\n

c. Shift panel compartment (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

d. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

e. Parking brake lever boot panel (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

f. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

g. Front console panel (See FRONT CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

h. Front console compartment (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

i. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

3. While pressing the hole cover tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the hole cover in the direction of arrow (2) and detach the hole cover tabs from the front console.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

4. Detach all hole cover tabs from the front console.<\/p>\n

5. Remove the hole cover.<\/p>\n

6. While pressing the auxiliary jack\/USB port tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure using the flathead screwdriver wrapped in protective tape, move the auxiliary jack\/USB port in the direction of arrow (2) and detach the auxiliary jack\/USB port tabs from the hole cover.<\/p>\n

7. Detach all auxiliary jack\/USB port tabs from the hole cover.<\/p>\n

8. Remove the auxiliary jack\/USB port.<\/p>\n

9. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n
