Connect the M-MDS to the vehicle and perform vehicle identification before removing the instrument cluster. The vehicle specification information is temporarily stored in the M-MDS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The instrument cluster prior to replacement stores the vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A new instrument cluster does not store any vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the vehicle specification information from the instrument cluster prior to replacement cannot be read, perform the configuration using As-Built data.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. When replacing the instrument cluster, perform the configuration. (See <a href=\"SM356367\">INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION (USING READ\/WRITE FUNCTION)<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If reading of the vehicle specification information cannot be performed, perform the configuration using As-Built data after replacing the instrument cluster. (See <a href=\"SM356365\">INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION (USING AS-BUILT DATA)<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Passenger-side scuff plate (See <a href=\"SM356211\">SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Passenger-side front side trim (See <a href=\"SM356199\">FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. Passenger-side A-pillar trim (See <a href=\"SM356198\">A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Passenger-side lower panel (See <a href=\"SM356210\">PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              e. Center panel No.2 (See <a href=\"SM356182\">CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              f. Meter hood (See <a href=\"SM356188\">METER HOOD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the screws. (See <a href=\"\"#id09220001030001\">Instrument cluster installation note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004079.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004079.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When removing the instrument cluster, the instrument cluster may contact the light switch, wiper and washer switch, or the start stop unit and the instrument cluster may be scratched. When removing the instrument cluster, cover the light switch, wiper and washer switch, and start stop unit using a rag.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            5. Cover the light switch, wiper and washer switch, and start stop unit using a rag.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004080.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004080.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Pull the instrument cluster outward to detach the instrument cluster clip from the dashboard.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004645.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004645.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Tilt the instrument cluster in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004646.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004646.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Disconnect the connector.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Lift up the instrument cluster.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the instrument cluster is left for a long time with its screen facing down, grease applied to the needles may spill and the needles may not operate smoothly. When storing the instrument cluster, store it with its screen facing upward.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004647.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004647.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            10. Remove the instrument cluster in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004648.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004648.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            11. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If writing of the vehicle specification information cannot be performed, perform the configuration using As-Built data after replacing the instrument cluster. (See <a href=\"SM356365\">INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION (USING AS-BUILT DATA)<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09220001030001\" id=\"id09220001030001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Instrument cluster installation note<\/h4>\n<p>            1.
