However, because the personalization information is returned to the initial values, it is necessary to store the personalization information before replacing the BCM and perform the resetting procedure for the personalization information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Configuration using M-MDS: The BCM reads the vehicle specification information and the personalization information from the pre-replacement BCM, and writes the information to a new BCM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>\n<p>When performing the auto configuration, store the personalization information before replacing the BCM and perform the resetting procedure for the personalization information because the personalization information is returned to the initial values.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09400000380001\" id=\"id09400000380001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>AT<\/h4>\n<p>            1. If the BCM is replaced and the auto configuration is not performed, perform the configuration using the M-MDS. (See <a href=\"SM356374\">BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION (USING READ\/WRITE FUNCTION)<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the scuff plate (driver&#8217;s side). (See <a href=\"SM356211\">SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the front side trim (driver&#8217;s side). (See <a href=\"SM356199\">FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the BCM connectors shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002831.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002831.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. While pressing the BCM tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the tab from the body.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002832.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002832.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Pull the BCM in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the hook from the body.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003715.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003715.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the BCM.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            10. If the BCM is replaced and the auto configuration is performed, perform the auto configuration using the following procedure.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for <b>1 min or more<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>              b. Switch the ignition off and wait for <b>3 s or more<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>              c. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and complete the BCM auto configuration.<\/p>\n<p>              d. Using the M-MDS, verify that DTCs U2300:54, U2300:55, or U2300:56 is not displayed.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If DTC U2300:54, U2300:55, or U2300:56 is displayed, go to the DTC troubleshooting procedure. (See <a href=\"SM355766\">DTC U2300:54 [BCM]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM355767\">DTC U2300:55 [BCM]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM355768\">DTC U2300:56 [BCM]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09400000380002\" id=\"id09400000380002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>MT<\/h4>\n<p>            1. If the BCM is replaced and the auto configuration is not performed, perform the configuration using the M-MDS. (See <a href=\"SM356374\">BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION (USING READ\/WRITE FUNCTION)<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the vehicle wiring harness clip.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002834.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002834.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Remove the BCM connectors shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002835.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002835.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. While pressing the BCM tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the tab from the body.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002836.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002836.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            9. Pull the BCM in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the hook from the body.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003715.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003715.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Remove the BCM connector shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002837.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002837.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            11. Remove the BCM.<\/p>\n<p>            12. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            13. If the BCM is replaced and the auto configuration is performed, perform the auto configuration using the following procedure.<\/p>\n<p>              a.
