Cut the rough edges around the damage with a knife to make it smooth. Sand the area with a sander to make an angle of about 45\u00b0.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000011.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000011.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Weld the damaged area.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>For repair of a cracked area, melt the crack together with a heat gun and a melting attachment.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000012.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000012.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>For repair of a hole, degrease the area on both sides of the bumper and apply aluminium tape on the reverse side of the damage area.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000013.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000013.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Melt the polypropylene welding rod with a heat gun and deposit it in the cracked area.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000014.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000014.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Heat the shaded area to melt it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Take care not to overly melted welding rod. If the part is welded with the welding rod melted like jelly, the welding strength will be reduced.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Hold the heat gun 10\u201420 mm {0.39\u20140.79 in} from the part being welded.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Do not move the welding rod until the welded parts cool.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000015.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000015.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Sand the surface of the polypropylene gradually as it is easily melted by the abrasion heat. Sand the area to where the repair agent will be applied.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000016.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000016.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Uniformly apply polypropylene primer with a brush to an area larger than the repaired area. Allow to dry about 10 minutes at 20 \u00b0C {68 \u00b0F}.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000017.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000017.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Mix the main agent and the stiffening agent in a ratio of one to one. Apply the mixed repair agent to the damaged area.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When mixing the main and stiffening agents, take care not to allow bubbles to form.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The repair agent hardens quickly (about 5 minutes); proceed with the work immediately after mixing the agents.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Allow about 30 minutes to dry (20 \u00b0C {68 \u00b0F}) before sanding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000018.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000018.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The repair agent is a two part epoxy adhesive. When the repair agent hardens, it will provide a good finish with the same flexibility as the polypropylens. The repair agent for a <b>urethane<\/b> bumper is also a two part adhesive compound. However, this is different from that for a polypropylene bumper. If the incorrect repair agent is used, the repair will be faulty.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Sand the area with #180\u2014240 sandpaper.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If excessive force is applied to the area when sanding, the surface will be damaged.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If fuzz remains around the repaired area, melt it with a heat gun.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000019.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000019.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Degrease the painted surface.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Mix the primer and the hardener at a ratio of one to one. Apply the primer to the repaired area and the surface of the bumper with a brush or spray.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000020.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000020.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Use the primer within 16 hours after it is mixed.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Polypropylene primer will dissolve even after drying if it is wiped with solvent. Use only water to clean around the primer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            10. Allow the part to dry.<\/p>\n<p>            11. Add the softener to the urethane primer surfacer and spray it on the repaired area.<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>\n<p>Mixing method<\/p>\n<p>Urethane primer surfacer + Softener &#8230;.. Mixture A<\/p>\n<p>Mixture A + hardener &#8230;.. Mixture B<\/p>\n<p>Dilute mixture B with thinner to spray on bumper<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Viscosity<\/p>\n<p>14\u201416 seconds\/viscosimeter 20 \u00b0C {68 \u00b0F}<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000021.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2UUB00000021.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Mix the solutions at the specified ratio.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Spray pressure<\/p>\n<p>300\u2014400 kPa {3\u20144 kg\/cm<sup>2<\/sup>, 43\u201457 psi}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Standard film thickness<\/p>\n<p>30\u201440 \u00b5<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Spray method<\/p>\n<p>Spot\u2013spray primer surfacer on bumper three or four times<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>            12. Air drying 20 \u00b0C {68 \u00b0F} \u2014 8 hours minimum.<\/p>\n<p>Forced drying 60 \u00b0C {140 \u00b0F} \u2014 1 hour<\/p>\n<p>            13. Lightly sand the complete surface of the bumper with #400\u2014#600 sandpaper. Do not expose the surface of the polypropylene. (Wet or dry sanding is acceptable.)<\/p>\n<p>            14. Wipe the complete surface of the bumper with degreasing agent. Quickly wipe the surface with a clean rag to degrease it.<\/p>\n<p>            15. Apply a matching coat of body color to the polypropylene bumper.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Be sure to use only urethane primer for a urethane bumper and polypropylene primer for a polypropylene bumper. Other paints for repairing a polypropylene bumper are the same as those for the urethane bumper.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            16.
