(See <a href=\"SH13224\">ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) CONTROL MODULE<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id06130024530003\" id=\"id06130024530003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Construction<\/h4>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The power steering malfunction indicator light is built into the instrument cluster.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUN00000483.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUN00000483.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id06130024530004\" id=\"id06130024530004\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Operation<\/h4>\n<p><a name=\"id06130024530005\" id=\"id06130024530005\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>EPS system malfunction detection<\/h5>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the EPS Control Module (CM) detects a system malfunction, it sends a power steering malfunction indicator light illumination on request signal to the instrument cluster via CAN.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The instrument cluster illuminates the power steering malfunction indicator light when it receives a power steering malfunction indicator light illumination on request signal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When the power steering malfunction indicator light turns on, a warning message is displayed in the center display.
