When the rear window defogger switch is turned on with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the climate control unit sends a rear window defogger\/heated outer mirrors operation request signal to the instrument cluster (1) via CAN communication.<\/p>\n<p>            2. The instrument cluster sends the rear window defogger\/heated outer mirrors operation signal to the BCM (2).<\/p>\n<p>            3. When the BCM receives the rear window defogger\/heated outer mirrors operation signal, it turns the rear window defogger relay on (3). The rear window defogger timer operates at the same time the rear window defogger relay turns on.<\/p>\n<p>            4.
