(See <a href=\"SH13383\">LIGHTING SYSTEM PERSONALIZATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09180001060004\" id=\"id09180001060004\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>On-board diagnostic function<\/h5>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is a malfunction in the auto light sensor, it notifies the BCM and outputs a DTC from the BCM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For details on DTCs, refer to the DTC table [ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)]]. (See <a href=\"SH13472\">ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id09180001060005\" id=\"id09180001060005\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Construction<\/h4>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The auto light sensor is integrated with the rain sensor as a single unit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The auto light sensor consists of the lens, upward illumination level sensor (photodiode), forward illumination level sensor (photodiode), and microcomputer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC3UUN00000551.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AC3UUN00000551.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"id09180001060006\" id=\"id09180001060006\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Operation<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The auto light sensor cannot detect the illumination level correctly under the following conditions, which could cause the auto light system to operate improperly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Stickers or labels are attached to the auto light sensor detection area on the windshield.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The auto light sensor detection area on the windshield is dirty.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the auto light sensor detects (1) the illumination level above and in front of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>            2.
