If tubing or tape is used to protect the connector wiring harness, cut into it being careful not cut or damage the wiring, and expose <b>approx. 200 mm {7.84 in}<\/b> of the wiring from the connector.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006203.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006203.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Cut the wiring harness once at the position near the connector so as to leave a long length of wiring harness on the vehicle side, align the length with the repair-use connector wiring harness, and then re-cut at the wiring harness on the vehicle side or the repair-use connector wiring harness at the appropriate position.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006204.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006204.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Cut longer in consideration of the amount of wiring harness length which will be soldered.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the cut wiring harness length is different than the repair-use wiring harness length, the following problems may occur.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>If too short: Tension will be applied to the terminal, splice or connector resulting in an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If too long: A short may occur due to pinching and wear of the extra length of wiring harness near the connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If several wiring harnesses are connected to the same connector, stagger the cut positions so that the repair positions do not overlap as shown in the figure to prevent thickening of the wiring harness after repair.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011195.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011195.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id00000000300002\" id=\"id00000000300002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Cut Off The Insulation From The Wiring Harness On The Vehicle Side And The Repair-use Connector Wiring Harness.<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Cut off <b>approx. 10\u201420 mm {0.39\u20140.79 in}<\/b> from the ends of the wiring harness on the vehicle side and the wiring harness of the repair-use connector. (If the repair-use wiring harness is thick, core twisting can be facilitated by lengthening the amount of insulation cut)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006205.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006205.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not damage or cut the cores of the wiring harnesses. After finishing the work, inspect the wiring harnesses for damage or cutting of the cores, and re-do the work if necessary.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006206.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006206.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Line up the cores of the wiring harnesses to be connected as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011199.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011199.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Twist together both of the cores.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011200.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011200.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>          <a name=\"id00000000300003\" id=\"id00000000300003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Soldering<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Twist together firmly the cores of the wiring harnesses being connected and apply soldering in that area.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006208.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006208.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Soldering for a long period of time could affect the surrounding electrical circuit. Apply soldering for an extremely short period of time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            2. Cut the ends off the connected area, and apply the soldering iron tip to the wiring harness after removing any fraying.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011202.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6ZZW00011202.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            3. Set the heat shrinkable tubing to the soldered area and shrink the heat shrinkable tubing at a temperature of <b>approx. 100 \u00b0C {212 \u00b0F}<\/b> using a drier.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Completely shrink the heat shrinkable tubing to the wiring harness leaving no gaps.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Perform the work being careful not to melt the insulation of the wiring harness by excessive heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006209.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM6XUW00006209.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>          <a name=\"id00000000300004\" id=\"id00000000300004\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Taping Work<\/h4>\n<p>            1.
