DETECTION CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

  • \n

    If the fuel injection verification signal is not input at 25 times<\/b> continuously even though the PCM drives the fuel injector No.2, the PCM determines that there is an open circuit in the fuel injector No.2 control circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n MONITORING CONDITIONS<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      The following conditions are met:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Battery voltage: 10.5 V or more<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Fuel injection control: except during fuel cut<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n

          \n Diagnostic support note<\/b><\/p>\n
        • \n

          This is a continuous monitor (CCM).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          FREEZE FRAME DATA\/Snapshot data is available.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          DTC is stored in the PCM memory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Switch the ignition off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Disconnect the fuel injector No.2 connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged\/pulled-out pins, corrosion).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is there any malfunction?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Repair or replace the connector and\/or terminals, then go to Step 9.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

    Verify that the fuel injector No.2 and PCM connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Fuel injector No.2 terminal B<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Fuel injector No.2 terminal A<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • \n

      Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Fuel injector No.2 terminal B\u2014PCM terminal 1DX<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Fuel injector No.2 terminal A\u2014PCM terminal 1DW<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
      • \n

        Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Verify that the fuel injector No.2 and PCM connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

    NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Another DTC may be stored by the PCM detecting an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Measure the voltage at the fuel injector No.2 terminal A (wiring harness-side).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Is the voltage 0 V<\/b>?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between fuel injector No.2 terminal A and PCM terminal 1DW.<\/p>\n

    \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
  • \n

    Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Go to Step 9.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR NO.2 CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT<\/b><\/p>\n

    Switch the ignition off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Fuel injector No.2 terminal B\u2014PCM terminal 1DX<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
