ECT sensor No.1\/No.2 performance problem<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

DETECTION CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Any of the following conditions is met after the ignition is switched ON*1<\/sup>:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    • \n

      The ECT sensor No.2 detected temperature is approx. 25.0 \u00b0C {45.0 \u00b0F}<\/b> higher than the ECT sensor No.1.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      The ECT sensor No.2 detected temperature is approx. \u221248.0 \u00b0C {\u221254.0 \u00b0F}<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      The ECT sensor No.2 detected temperature is approx. 28 \u00b0C {50 \u00b0F}<\/b> higher than the ECT sensor No.1 when the intake air temperature is 15 \u00b0C {59 \u00b0F} or more<\/b>*2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n
      • \n

        *1<\/sup>: Ignition is switched ON when 6 h<\/b> or more have passed since the ignition was switched off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        *2<\/sup>: Perform determination according to the intake air temperature conditions when the calculated intake air amount exceeds 5,000 g {176.4 oz}<\/b> (difference between ECT sensors No.1 and No.2 is determined engine coolant temperature value at engine start).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          \n Diagnostic support note<\/b><\/p>\n
        • \n

          This is a continuous monitor (engine cooling system).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          FREEZE FRAME DATA\/Snapshot data is available.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          DTC is stored in the PCM memory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
