HO2S heater control circuit high input<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

DETECTION CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

    \n
  • \n

    When the PCM controls the HO2S heater, the voltage input to the PCM is too high.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n Diagnostic support note<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      This is a continuous monitor (A\/F sensor heater, HO2S heater).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      FREEZE FRAME DATA\/Snapshot data is available.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      DTC is stored in the PCM memory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT HO2S CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n

    Switch the ignition off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Disconnect the HO2S connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged\/pulled-out pins, corrosion).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is there any malfunction?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Repair or replace the connector and\/or terminals, then go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT HO2S HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY<\/b><\/p>\n
    \n
  • \n

    Verify that the HO2S and PCM connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Switch the ignition ON (engine off).<\/p>\n

    NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Another DTC may be stored by the PCM detecting an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Measure the voltage at the HO2S terminal D (wiring harness-side).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Is the voltage 0 V<\/b>?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between HO2S terminal D and PCM terminal 2C.<\/p>\n

    \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
  • \n

    Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

6<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n INSPECT HO2S HEATER<\/b><\/p>\n\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Replace the HO2S, then go to the next step.<\/p>\n
