IAT sensor No.1 circuit low input<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

DETECTION CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

  • \n

    The PCM monitors the IAT sensor No.1 signal. If the PCM detects that the IAT sensor No.1 voltage at the PCM terminal 2U is below 0.19 V<\/b> for 5 s<\/b>, the PCM determines that the IAT sensor No.1 circuit has a malfunction.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n Diagnostic support note<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      This is a continuous monitor (CCM).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      FREEZE FRAME DATA\/Snapshot data is available.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      DTC is stored in the PCM memory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

  • \n

    Fixes the intake air temperature (for engine control) at 20 \u00b0C {68 \u00b0F}<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Inhibits the fuel cut control during shift change.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Short to ground in wiring harness between MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 terminal A and PCM terminal 2U<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    IAT sensor No.1 signal circuit and ground circuit are shorted to each other<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    PCM malfunction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT MAF SENSOR\/IAT SENSOR NO.1 CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n

    Switch the ignition off.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Disconnect the MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged\/pulled-out pins, corrosion).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is there any malfunction?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Repair or replace the connector and\/or terminals, then go to Step 8.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

\n INSPECT IAT SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND<\/b><\/p>\n

  • \n

    Verify that the MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 and PCM connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 terminal A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 terminal A and PCM terminal 2U.<\/p>\n

    \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
  • \n

    Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Go to Step 8.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Verify that the MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 and PCM connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between MAF sensor\/IAT sensor No.1 terminals A and B (wiring harness-side).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n
