Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Select \u201cSelf Test\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>              b. Select \u201cModules\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>              c. Select \u201cPCM\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Then, select the \u201cKOEO On Demand Self Test\u201d and perform procedures according to directions on the M-MDS screen.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the M-MDS screen.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            5. After completion of repairs, clear all DTCs stored in the PCM, while referring to \u201cAFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE\u201d.<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id0102i580120002\" id=\"id0102i580120002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>KOER Self Test<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If a KOER self test is performed with the engine coolant temperature at <b>less than 60 \u00b0C {140 \u00b0F}<\/b>, a DTC for the variable valve timing may be detected even if the variable valve timing is normal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For vehicles with the variable valve timing control, execute a KOER self test after the variable valve timing learning is finished.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>A KOER self test cannot be executed if the variable timing valve learning in not finished.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The variable valve timing learning is cleared if the PCM backup power supply is interrupted (including battery removal), or after reprogramming.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>To perform variable valve timing learning, the engine speed needs to be increased momentarily to <b>approx. 2,000 rpm<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Start engine and run it at idle.<\/p>\n<p>            3. After the vehicle is identified, access the ECT PID using the M-MDS.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Verify the ECT PID value is <b>above 60 \u00b0C {140 \u00b0F}<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>            5. Select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Select \u201cSelf Test\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>              b. Select \u201cModules\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>              c. Select \u201cPCM\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>            6. Then, select the \u201cKOER On Demand Self Test\u201d and perform procedures according to directions on the M-MDS screen.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the M-MDS screen.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            8.
