Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before servicing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not disassemble the electric variable valve timing motor\/driver because it is a precision unit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Do not apply excessive force when rotating the electric variable valve timing motor joint. If it is rotated with excessive force, the electric variable valve timing motor could be damaged.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"\"id011700800800.html\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the electric variable valve timing motor\/driver. (See <a href=\"\"id0110h2808100.html\">ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR\/DRIVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Rotate the electric variable valve timing motor joint to the left and right by your fingers and verify that it rotates smoothly in <b>15\u00b0<\/b> increments.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Rotate the joint area smoothly using only the tips of your fingers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The electric variable valve timing motor joint moves in <b>15\u00b0<\/b> increments, and if the joint is moved <b>24<\/b> times, it rotates one full rotation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00009048.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00009048.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If it does not rotate smoothly, replace the electric variable valve timing motor\/driver.(See <a href=\"\"id0110h2808100.html\">ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR\/DRIVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            4.
