Turn off the engine and wait until it and the engine oil have cooled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A vehicle that is lifted but not securely supported on safety stands is dangerous. It can slip or fall, causing death or serious injury. Never work around or under a lifted vehicle if it is not securely supported on safety stands.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Continuous exposure to USED engine oil has caused skin cancer in laboratory mice. Protect your skin by washing with soap and water immediately after working with engine oil.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If engine oil is spilled on the exhaust system, wipe it off completely. If you fail to wipe the spilled engine oil, it will produce fumes because of the heat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Position the vehicle on level ground.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the oil filler cap.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the front crossmember under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the oil pan drain plug.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004229.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004229.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Drain the engine oil into a container.<\/p>\n<p>            6. Install the oil pan drain plug with a new gasket.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>Oil pan drain plug tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>30\u201441 N\u00b7m {3.1\u20144.1 kgf\u00b7m, 23\u201430 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The amount of residual oil in the engine can vary according to factors such as the replacement method and oil temperature. Verify the oil level after engine oil replacement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            7. Install the oil filler cap.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is oil leakage, repair or replace the applicable part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            10. Inspect the oil level. (See <a href=\"SM352705\">ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            11. Install the front crossmember under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            12. If the engine oil maintenance monitor function is set on, reset the engine oil data.
