Due to the following dangers occurring with a fuel spray, always complete the \u201cFuel Line Safety Procedure\u201d to prevent the fuel from spraying.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li>\n<p>Fuel may cause irritation if it comes in contact with skin and eyes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If fuel ignites and causes a fire, it may lead to serious injury or death, and damage to property and facilities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>\n<p>A person charged with static electricity could cause a fire or explosion, resulting in death or serious injury. Before draining fuel, make sure to discharge static electricity by touching the vehicle body.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not disassemble the high pressure fuel pump.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Do not damage the sealing surface or the lock part of the fuel pipe.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00011143.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00011143.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Damage or deformation to the end of the high pressure line pipe may cause fuel leakage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Disconnecting\/connecting the quick release connector without cleaning it may cause damage to the fuel pipe and quick release connector. Always clean the quick release connector joint area before disconnecting\/connecting using a cloth or soft brush, and make sure that it is free of foreign material.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Complete the \u201cBEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION\u201d. (See <a href=\"SM352744\">BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the seal cover. (See <a href=\"SM352695\">SEAL COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Wiper arm and blade (See <a href=\"SM356289\">WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Cowl grille (See <a href=\"SM356140\">COWL GRILLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. Air box complete (See <a href=\"SM356024\">AIR BOX COMPLETE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.<\/p>\n<p>            6. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Complete the \u201cAFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION\u201d. (See <a href=\"SM352743\">AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            8. Complete the \u201cFuel Leakage Inspection After High Pressure Fuel Pump Installation\u201d. id=\"id0114z580140001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>High Pressure Fuel Pipe Removal Note<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>When removing the high pressure fuel pipe, the end of the high pressure fuel pipe may be damaged because the clearance between the high pressure fuel pump and the high pressure fuel pipe is small. Be very careful when handling the end of the high pressure fuel pipe so as not to damage it.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00011147.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM3UUW00011147.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the high pressure fuel pump is removed with the high pressure fuel pipe installed, the high pressure fuel pipe and fuel distributor may be damaged because of the excessive force caused by the spring force of the high pressure fuel pump. The high pressure fuel pipe and fuel distributor must be replaced if they are damaged. Always remove the high pressure fuel pipe before removing the high pressure fuel pump.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>I pay attention so that a dent and a vice are not put on the plating in the high pressure fuel pipe surface at the time of SST use.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Depending on the vehicle&#8217;s period of manufacture, it is either equipped or not equipped with a high pressure fuel pipe cover. If the cover is removed, it is not necessary to reinstall it because the part has no effect on the vehicle&#8217;s functions and performance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005786.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005786.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            1. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe using the <b>SST<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005183.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005183.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0114z580140002\" id=\"id0114z580140002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Rear Housing Removal Note<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Remove the rear housing.<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id0114z580140003\" id=\"id0114z580140003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Rear Housing Installation Note<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>After applying silicone sealant, install the rear housing within 10 min. and then tighten all bolts within 5 min.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Apply silicone sealant to the areas shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005185.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005185.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>Thickness<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>3.0\u20147.0 mm {0.12\u20140.27 in}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            2. Install the rear housing.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Install the exhaust CMP sensor. (See <a href=\"SM352810\">CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Install the insulator.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005186.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005186.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0114z580140004\" id=\"id0114z580140004\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>High Pressure Fuel Pump Installation Note<\/h4>\n<p>            1. Rotate the timing mark clockwise approx. 30 degrees from the TDC (position shown in the figure) of cylinder No. 1.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005187.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005187.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Insert the high pressure fuel pump into the rear housing.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Press in the high pressure fuel pump until the O-ring cannot be seen.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Temporarily tighten the high pressure fuel pump installation bolt on one side until its head contacts the high pressure fuel pump.<\/p>\n<p>            5. Tighten the high pressure fuel pump installation bolt which is not tightened in Step 4.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>High pressure fuel pump installation bolt tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>19\u201425 N\u00b7m {2.0\u20142.5 kgf\u00b7m, 15\u201418 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            6. Tighten the high pressure fuel pump installation bolt which was tightened in Step 4.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>High pressure fuel pump installation bolt tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>19\u201425 N\u00b7m {2.0\u20142.5 kgf\u00b7m, 15\u201418 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0114z580140005\" id=\"id0114z580140005\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>High Pressure Fuel Pipe Installation Note<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Damage or deformation to the end of the high pressure fuel pipe may cause fuel leakage. When installing the high pressure fuel pipe to the high pressure fuel pump, be very careful while handling the end of the high pressure fuel pipe.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If parts are exposed to fuel, their function may be decreased or a fire may occur. Always wipe off any leaked fuel using a clean rag.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Do not let foreign materials enter into the high pressure fuel pipe.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Install a new high pressure fuel pipe because it cannot be reused.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Temporarily tighten the nuts on both ends until they are seated to the nipple of the high pressure fuel pipe.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005709.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005709.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Temporarily tighten the high pressure fuel pipe bracket installation bolt.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Performing the procedure with the tightening nut angled at or away from the SST shaft could cause fuel leakage because the tightening nut cannot be tightened to the specified torque. Perform the procedure with the tightening nut and the SST shaft parallel to each other.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005769.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005769.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>I pay attention so that a dent and a vice are not put on the plating in the high pressure fuel pipe surface at the time of SST use.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3.
