Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. (See <a href=\"SM353492\">AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353491\">AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for <b>1 min or more<\/b>. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the driver\u2013side air bag module. (See <a href=\"SM353495\">DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353496\">DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) Disconnect the clock spring connector (part wiring harness-side).<\/p>\n<p>            4. Measure the resistance between clock spring terminals 3E and 3A (part wiring harness-side) using a ohmmeter.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005487.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005487.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If as specified, go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If not as specified, replace the steering switch.
