Connect the M-MDS to the vehicle and perform vehicle identification before removing the PCM. The vehicle specification information is temporarily stored in the M-MDS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The PCM prior to replacement stores the vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A new PCM does not store any vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the vehicle specification information PCM prior to replacement cannot be read, perform the configuration using As-Built data.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Set the resonance duct and air intake hoses No.1 and 2 aside as a single unit using the following procedure. (With resonance chamber No.2)<\/p>\n<p>              a. Remove the bolt shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005618.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005618.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              b. Disconnect the air intake hose No.1 from the joint pipe.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005619.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005619.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              c. Set the resonance duct and air intake hoses No.1 and 2 aside as a single unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005620.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005620.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            3. Disconnect the PCM connector. (See <a href=\"\"#id0140f480240001\">PCM Connector Connection Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003657.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003657.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Detach the clips and remove the emission wiring harness protector.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003658.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003658.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the nuts and bolt.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003659.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003659.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the PCM assembly.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Remove the nuts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003660.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003660.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the PCM from the PCM bracket.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            10. When replacing the PCM on the vehicles, perform the following:<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If configuration cannot be performed by reading\/writing of the vehicle specification information, perform the configuration using As-Built information after replacing the PCM. (See <a href=\"SM352827\">PCM CONFIGURATION (USING AS-BUILT DATA) [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>(1) Perform the PCM configuration. (See <a href=\"SM352826\">PCM CONFIGURATION (USING READ\/WRITE FUNCTION) [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>(2) Perform the immobilizer system-related part programming. (See <a href=\"SM356118\">IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0140f480240001\" id=\"id0140f480240001\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>PCM Connector Connection Note<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not touch the PCM connector terminal. The terminal is extremely thin and can be damaged by touching it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the PCM connector is inserted at an angle and the lever is moved, the connector could be damaged. Verify that the PCM connector is inserted straight.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003661.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003661.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Set the PCM connector to the position shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003662.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003662.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Align the PCM connector straight against the connection surface.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003663.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003663.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            3. Insert the PCM connector straight and press it in until the lever moves up naturally. (Front wiring harness-side connector)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003664.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003664.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4.
