Connect the M-MDS to the DLC\u20132.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See <a href=\"SM352608\">ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If any DTC related to the ignition coil\/ion sensor is present, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See <a href=\"SM352613\">DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id0140f495470002\" id=\"id0140f495470002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Visual Inspection<\/h4>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The ion sensor is built into the ignition coil. When replacing the ion sensor, replace the ignition coil\/ion sensor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the ignition coil\/ion sensor. (See <a href=\"SM352788\">IGNITION COIL\/ION SENSOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Verify that there is no damage to the ignition coil\/ion sensor, and no corrosion and damage to the connector.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is a malfunction, replace the ignition coil\/ion sensor.
