Before servicing, disconnect the front ABS wheel-speed sensor and set it aside so that the wiring harness will not be pulled by mistake.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If the steering wheel rotates after the steering shaft and the steering gear are disconnected, the internal parts of the clock spring could be damaged. Secure the steering wheel using tape or a cable to prevent the steering shaft from rotating after disconnecting the steering shaft.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove front mudguard No.1 and the front deflector as a single unit. (See <a href=\"SM356174\">FRONT MUDGUARD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Front mudguard No.2 (See <a href=\"SM356174\">FRONT MUDGUARD REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Front under cover (See <a href=\"SM356165\">FRONT UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. Front crossmember under cover (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the brackets.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005345.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005345.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the front ABS wheel-speed sensor from the wheel hub component.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005346.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005346.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the front ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness from the bracket and front upper arm and set it aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Remove the front brake hose from the front upper arm and front crossmember and set it aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005347.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005347.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the front brake caliper component and suspend it on the body side using a cable. (See <a href=\"SM353007\">FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [WITH SINGLE PISTON CALIPER]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353008\">FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [WITH 4-POT OPPOSED PISTON CALIPER]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003400.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003400.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            9. Remove the front disc plate. (See <a href=\"SM353007\">FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [WITH SINGLE PISTON CALIPER]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353008\">FRONT BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [WITH 4-POT OPPOSED PISTON CALIPER]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            10. Remove the front stabilizer control link.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003401.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003401.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            11. Remove the front splash shield No.2. (See <a href=\"SM356171\">FRONT SPLASH SHIELD No.2 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            12. Remove the nut. (See <a href=\"\"#id02130020401304\">Nut Installation Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003402.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003402.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            13. Suspend the front stabilizer component on the body side using a cable as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003813.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003813.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>With the front stabilizer component suspended and secured, the front crossmember may come in contact with it during front crossmember removal\/installation which may lead to part damage. When suspending the front stabilizer component, suspend it to allow some play so that it can be moved.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            14. Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering gear and linkage. (See <a href=\"SM353238\">INTERMEDIATE SHAFT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            15. Detach the wiring harness clip and connectors shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003404.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003404.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            16. Remove the front splash shield No.1. (See <a href=\"SM356170\">FRONT SPLASH SHIELD No.1 REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            17. Detach the wiring harness clips shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005348.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005348.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            18. Remove the seal plate. (See <a href=\"SM356042\">SEAL PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            19. Remove the horn LO. (See <a href=\"SM356363\">HORN REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            20. Remove the front crossmember extension.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005349.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005349.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            21. Remove the oil pipe No.3 bracket from the front crossmember. (AT vehicles) (See <a href=\"SM353163\">OIL COOLER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            22. Remove the battery wiring harness bracket. (MT vehicles)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005350.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005350.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            23. Remove the coolant reserve tank. (See <a href=\"SM352715\">COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            24. Remove the upper mount rubber bracket (LH). (See <a href=\"SM352719\">RADIATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            25. Suspend the cooling fan component through the upper mount rubber bracket (LH) hole using a cable as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005351.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005351.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            26. Remove the lower radiator hose brackets from the front crossmember.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005352.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005352.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            27. Remove the lower mount rubber bracket. (See <a href=\"SM352719\">RADIATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            28. Remove the center mount rubber bracket. (See <a href=\"SM352719\">RADIATOR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            29. Remove the ground.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003684.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003684.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            30. Suspend the engine using the <b>SST<\/b>. (See <a href=\"SM352681\">ENGINE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            31. Disconnect the engine mount rubber from the front crossmember. (See <a href=\"SM352696\">ENGINE MOUNT DISASSEMBLY\/ASSEMBLY [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            32. Remove the front suspension tower bar. (With front suspension tower bar) (See <a href=\"SM352871\">FRONT SUSPENSION TOWER BAR REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            33. Remove the upper nuts of the front shock absorber. (See <a href=\"SM352859\">FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER AND COIL SPRING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            34. Loosen the lower nut of the front shock absorber. (See <a href=\"SM352859\">FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER AND COIL SPRING REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>With the front shock absorber secured, the front crossmember may come in contact with it during front crossmember removal\/installation which may lead to part damage. Loosen the front shock absorber lower nut until the front shock absorber can move.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            35. Support the front crossmember using a jack.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003413.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003413.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">WARNING:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If the front crossmember falls off during front crossmember removal\/installation, it may cause serious injury or death, or vehicle damage. When removing\/installing the front crossmember, always use a jack and verify that the crossmember is securely supported.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            36. Remove in the order of bolts A, B, nuts A, and B.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003414.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003414.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            37. Lower the jack slowly and remove the front crossmember component.<\/p>\n<p>            38. Remove the front stabilizer component suspended above the vehicle. (See <a href=\"\"#id02130020401303\">Front Stabilizer Component Installation Note<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            39. Remove in the order shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p>            40. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            41. Inspect the front wheel alignment and adjust it if necessary. If the front stabilizer bracket cannot be removed by hand, remove it using a vise.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The front stabilizer bracket may be deformed if it is removed using a vise. When removing the front stabilizer bracket using a vise, secure the front stabilizer bracket flange to the vise as shown in the figure, then remove it.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00008275.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AM2ZZW00008275.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id02130020401302\" id=\"id02130020401302\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Front Stabilizer Bracket Installation Note<\/h4>\n<p>            1. If the front stabilizer bracket cannot be installed by hand, install it using a vise.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The front stabilizer bracket may be deformed if it is installed using a vise. When installing the front stabilizer bracket using a vise, set the cylinder-shaped parts as shown in the figure so that pressure is applied to the front stabilizer bracket flange, and install the front stabilizer bracket to the front stabilizer bushing.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005353.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005353.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            2. After installing the front stabilizer bracket, verify that the positions of the front stabilizer bracket and the front stabilizer bushing are within the range shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005354.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005354.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>H<sup>1<\/sup>: 6.5 mm {0.26 in} max.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>H<sup>2<\/sup>: 6.5 mm {0.26 in} max.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>          <a name=\"id02130020401303\" id=\"id02130020401303\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Front Stabilizer Component Installation Note<\/h4>\n<p>            1.
