Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Selector lever knob (with AT vehicles) (See <a href=\"SM353197\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Shift lever knob (with MT vehicles) (See <a href=\"SM353149\">TRANSMISSION REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [M66M-D]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. Shift panel component (See <a href=\"SM356197\">SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Upper panel (See <a href=\"SM356228\">UPPER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Loosen the adjusting nut.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005107.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005107.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the bolt.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005108.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005108.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the tunnel member.<\/p>\n<p>            6. When working on the left side of the vehicle, remove the floor under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356176\">FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            7. Remove in the order indicated in the table.<\/p>\n<p>            8. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            9. After installation, inspect the parking brake lever stroke.
