Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the selector lever knob. (See <a href=\"SM353197\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the shift panel component. (See <a href=\"SM356197\">SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the upper panel. (See <a href=\"SM356228\">UPPER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the parking brake lever boot panel. (See <a href=\"SM356180\">PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the rear console. (See <a href=\"SM356194\">REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            7. Remove the front console panel. (See <a href=\"SM356230\">FRONT CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the front console component. (See <a href=\"SM356193\">FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            9. Disconnect the connector and wiring harness clip.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002845.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002845.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Place a clean rag behind the engine so that the engine does not contact the rear housing when it is tilted.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004812.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004812.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            11. Drain the ATF. (See <a href=\"SM353173\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [SJ6A-EL]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            12. Disconnect the oil hose.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003500.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003500.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            13. Remove the front crossmember under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            14. Disconnect the control rod from the selector lever component. (See <a href=\"SM353197\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            15. Remove the tunnel member.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            16. Disconnect the HO2S connector. (See <a href=\"SM352822\">HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            17. Remove the exhaust manifold (WU-TWC). (See <a href=\"SM352752\">EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            18. Temporarily install the engine mount. (See <a href=\"SM352696\">ENGINE MOUNT DISASSEMBLY\/ASSEMBLY [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            19. Suspend the TWC using a cable as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002847.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002847.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            20. Disconnect the connector clip.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003501.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003501.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            21. Remove the starter. (See <a href=\"SM352792\">STARTER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            22. Remove the blind cover.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003502.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003502.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            23. Hold the crankshaft pulley to prevent torque converter from rotating.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004581.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004581.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            24. Remove the torque converter installation nuts from the starter installation hole.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003511.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003511.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            25. Remove the power plant frame. (See <a href=\"SM353157\">POWER PLANT FRAME REMOVAL [M66M-D]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            26. Remove the propeller shaft. (See <a href=\"SM352908\">PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            27. Remove in the order indicated in the table.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">WARNING:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Improperly jacking a transmission is dangerous. If the transmission falls it could be damaged or cause injury.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>To prevent the torque converter and transmission from separating, remove the transmission without tilting it toward the torque converter.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Install the bracket.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003507.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003507.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Connect the connector and the wiring harness clips, and install the short cord.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003506.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003506.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Rotate the solenoid valve connector lever until a click is heard.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005399.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005399.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Install the control rod to the transmission. (See <a href=\"SM353197\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Install the insulator using the following procedures.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Temporarily tighten bolt B.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002860.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002860.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              b. Install the insulator and temporarily tighten bolts A and C in the order of A and C.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002861.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002861.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              c. Completely tighten bolts A, B, and C in the order of A, B, C.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                  <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>19???25 N\u00b7m {2.0???2.5 kgf\u00b7m, 15???18 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            5. Disconnect the ground cable.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004783.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004783.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Set the <b>SST (49 E017 5A0)<\/b> as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00005971.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00005971.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Using the <b>SST (49 E017 5A0)<\/b>, lower the rear side of the engine while being careful not to allow parts on the back of the engine to contact the vehicle body.<\/p>\n<p>            8. Support the transmission on a jack.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003505.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003505.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">WARNING:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Install the transmission carefully, holding it steady. If the transmission falls it could be damaged or cause injury.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            9. Verify that the torque converter stud bolts are inserted into the drive plate bolt holes from the starter installation hole.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003503.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003503.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Install the transmission mounting bolts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003510.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003510.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>38???52 N\u00b7m {3.9???5.3 kgf\u00b7m, 29???38 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            11. Install the propeller shaft. (See <a href=\"SM352908\">PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            12. Install the power plant frame. (See <a href=\"SM353158\">POWER PLANT FRAME INSTALLATION [M66M-D]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            13. Remove the tunnel member temporarily.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            14. Hold the crankshaft pulley to prevent torque converter from rotating.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004581.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/ARDJJW00004581.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            15. Tighten the torque converter installation nuts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003511.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003511.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>After temporarily tightening the torque converter installation nut uniformly, tighten it to the specified torque.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>41???54 N\u00b7m {4.2???5.5 kgf\u00b7m, 31???39 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            16. Install the blind cover.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003502.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003502.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Verify that the tabs on the backside of the blind cover are assembled to the end plate as shown in the figure and the clip is attached securely.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003512.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003512.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            17. Install the starter. (See <a href=\"SM352792\">STARTER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            18.
