Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before replacing ATF.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not mistake the overflow plug for the drain plug.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Remove the drain plug and the drain plug gasket from the oil pan.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003519.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003519.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2. Drain the ATF into a container.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Clean the drain plug.<\/p>\n<p>            4. Install a new drain plug gasket and the drain plug to the oil pan.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003520.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003520.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Always install the drain plug gasket in the correct direction as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>18\u201422 N\u00b7m {1.9\u20142.2 kgf\u00b7m, 14\u201416 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not mistake the overflow plug for the drain plug.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            5. Remove the overflow plug and the overflow plug gasket.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003521.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003521.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the filler plug and the O-ring.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003522.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003522.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            7. Add the specified type of ATF through the filler plug hole.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>ATF Type<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>Mazda Genuine JWS3309<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n                <b>Capacity (Reference):<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>7.2 L {7.6 US qt, 6.3 Imp qt}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            8. Verify that the ATF is dripping from the overflow orifice.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Install a new overflow plug gasket and the overflow plug.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003520.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003520.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Always install the overflow plug gasket in the correct direction as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>18\u201422 N\u00b7m {1.9\u20142.2 kgf\u00b7m, 14\u201416 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            10. Coat a new O-ring with ATF, and install it to the filler plug.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003522.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003522.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Replace the O-ring if it has malfunction.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>24\u201454 N\u00b7m {2.5\u20145.5 kgf\u00b7m, 18\u201439 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Always adjust the ATF level when replacing the ATF so that the appropriate level is maintained.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            11. Adjust the ATF level.
