Always perform the servicing according to the adjustment procedure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Remaining ATF may drip from the overflow tube even when the ATF level is less than the specified value, therefore careful determination is required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>An overflow-type SJ6A-EL automatic transmission has been adopted with an overflow tube installed to the oil pan for inspection of the ATF level. Therefore, no dipstick has been equipped.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003533.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003533.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Lift up the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the filler plug and O-ring.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003522.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003522.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not mistake the overflow plug for the drain plug.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            3. Remove the overflow plug and the overflow plug gasket.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003521.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003521.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Temporarily tighten the overflow plug.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Start the engine and warm it up by idling to increase the ATF temperature.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Perform the following procedure quickly, otherwise, the ATF temperature will exceed the proper range.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            8. Shift to all positions, from the P position through the D position, taking <b>2 s or more<\/b> for each position, and after repeating the procedure two times, shift to the P position again.<\/p>\n<p>            9. Verify that the ATF temperature is in the proper range <b>(57.5\u201462.5 \u00b0C {136\u2014144 \u00b0F})<\/b>. (See <a href=\"\"#id05131126000002\">ATF Temperature Verification<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            10. Remove the overflow plug and verify that the ATF is flowing from the overflow orifice with the transmission in park and engine idling.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003534.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003534.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If there is no ATF flowing, install the overflow plug after the engine is stopped, refill with ATF from the filler plug hole, and repeat the procedure from Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            11. Wait until the ATF starts dripping from the overflow plug.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003535.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003535.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Always install the overflow plug gasket in the correct direction as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            12. If ATF dripping is verified, install a new overflow plug gasket and overflow plug.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003523.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003523.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>18\u201422 N\u00b7m {1.9\u20142.2 kgf\u00b7m, 14\u201416 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            13. Wipe off any ATF drips after tightening the overflow plug.<\/p>\n<p>            14. Lower the vehicle.<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id05131126000002\" id=\"id05131126000002\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>ATF Temperature Verification<\/h4>\n<p><a name=\"id05131126000003\" id=\"id05131126000003\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Using the M-MDS<\/h5>\n<p>            1. Connect the M-MDS to the vehicle DLC-2.<\/p>\n<p>            2. Inspect the ATF temperature using the PID\/data monitor \u201cTFT\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>            3. Warm up the automatic transmission until the ATF temperature is <b>57.5\u201462.5 \u00b0C {136\u2014144 \u00b0F}<\/b>.<br \/>\n          <a name=\"id05131126000004\" id=\"id05131126000004\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Using the automatic transmission warning light<\/h5>\n<p>            1. Short the TFT check connector terminal A and B of the TCM.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003536.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003536.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            2.
