Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the selector lever knob. (See <a href=\"SM353197\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Remove the shift panel component. (See <a href=\"SM356197\">SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the upper panel. (See <a href=\"SM356228\">UPPER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the parking brake lever boot panel. (See <a href=\"SM356180\">PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the rear console. (See <a href=\"SM356194\">REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            7. Remove the front console panel. (See <a href=\"SM356230\">FRONT CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the front console component. (See <a href=\"SM356193\">FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            9. Disconnect the connector and wiring harness clip.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002845.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002845.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            10. Place a clean rag behind the engine so that the engine does not contact the rear housing when it is tilted.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004812.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00004812.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            11. Remove the front crossmember under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            12. Disconnect the control rod from the selector lever component. (See <a href=\"SM353197\">AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            13. Remove the tunnel member.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            14. Disconnect the HO2S connector. (See <a href=\"SM352822\">HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            15. Disconnect the TWC from the exhaust manifold (WU-TWC). (See <a href=\"SM352752\">EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            16. Suspend the TWC using a cable as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002847.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002847.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            17. Remove the power plant frame. (See <a href=\"SM353157\">POWER PLANT FRAME REMOVAL [M66M-D]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            18. Tilt the transmission while being careful not to allow parts on the back of the engine to contact the vehicle body.<\/p>\n<p>            19. Remove the insulator.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002848.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002848.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            20. Disconnect the TR switch connector.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002849.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002849.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            21. Rotate the manual shaft to the N position.<\/p>\n<p>            22. Secure the control rod component with an adjustable wrench as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002850.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002850.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not use an impact wrench.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>When loosening the control rod nut, secure the control rod component without applying torque within the AT.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            23. Remove the control rod nut.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002851.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002851.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            24. Remove the washer and control rod component.<\/p>\n<p>            25. Pry off the lock washer using a flathead screwdriver.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002852.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002852.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            26. Remove the nut, lock washer and the washer.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002853.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002853.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            27. Remove the TR switch.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002854.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002854.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            28. Rotate the manual shaft to the extension housing side fully and return two notches to set the N position.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002855.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002855.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            29. Install the TR switch and hand-tighten the new mounting bolts.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002856.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002856.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            30. Verify the TR switch reference line and the notch of the manual shaft are aligned.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002857.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002857.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Improper adjustment of the TR switch will cause abnormal operation of the automatic transmission. Always adjust the TR switch correctly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            31. Install the washer and the lock washer with the nut.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002853.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002853.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>5.9???7.8 N\u00b7m {61???79 kgf\u00b7cm, 53???69 in\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            32. Stake the lock washer using a flathead screwdriver.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002858.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002858.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            33. Tighten the TR switch mounting bolts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>10???15 N\u00b7m {102???152 kgf\u00b7cm, 89???132 in\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            34. Inspect for continuity between TR switch terminals E and H.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXZZW00000190.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXZZW00000190.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            35. Install the control rod component and washer.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002851.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002851.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            36. Secure the control rod component with an adjustable wrench and tighten the control rod nut as shown in the figure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005641.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00005641.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">CAUTION:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>Do not use an impact wrench.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>When tightening the control rod nut, secure the control rod component without applying torque within the AT.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n                <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>14???18 N\u00b7m {1.5???1.8 kgf\u00b7m, 11???13 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            37. Shift the selector lever to the P position.<\/p>\n<p>            38. Turn the manual shaft lever to the P position.<\/p>\n<p>            39. Inspect TR switch continuity. (See <a href=\"SM353174\">TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SWITCH INSPECTION [SJ6A-EL]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            40. Connect the TR switch connector.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002849.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002849.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            41. Install the insulator using the following procedure.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Temporarily tighten bolt B.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002860.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002860.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              b. Install the insulator and temporarily tighten bolts A and C in the order of A and C.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002861.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002861.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>              c. Completely tighten bolts A, B, and C in the order of A, B, C.<\/p>\n<ul>\n                  <b>Tightening torque<\/b><\/p>\n<li>\n<p>19???25 N\u00b7m {2.0???2.5 kgf\u00b7m, 15???18 ft\u00b7lbf}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            42. Install the power plant frame. (See <a href=\"SM353158\">POWER PLANT FRAME INSTALLATION [M66M-D]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            43. Remove the tunnel member temporarily.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003817.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            44. Install the TWC to the exhaust manifold (WU-TWC). (See <a href=\"SM352752\">EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            45. Connect the HO2S connector. (See <a href=\"SM352822\">HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            46. Install the tunnel member.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003818.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003818.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            47. Install the front crossmember under cover. (See <a href=\"SM356179\">FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            49.
