Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. (See <a href=\"SM353470\">AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353469\">AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for <b>1 min or more<\/b>. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>. )<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See <a href=\"SM353476\">DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353228\">STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the steering shift switch. (With steering shift switch) (See <a href=\"SM353162\">STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the steering wheel cover. (See <a href=\"SM353241\">STEERING WHEEL COVER REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            6. Remove the steering wheel bezel. (See <a href=\"SM353240\">STEERING WHEEL BEZEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            7. Warm up the shaded area shown in the figure and soften the hard plastic area of the steering wheel using a heat gun.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003047.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003047.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            8. Remove the steering wheel side cover by pulling it and detaching tabs A, B, and C.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003048.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00003048.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            9.
