    After obtaining the customer’s consent, connect a normal USB device that was not used when the malfunction occurred.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Is the connection detected?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

System is normal. (Explain to the customer that there is a malfunction in the USB device which was used or a malfunction occurred due to use of an incompatible USB device (format).)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT AUXILIARY JACK\/USB PORT CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT AUXILIARY JACK\/USB PORT<\/b><\/p>\n\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Replace the auxiliary jack\/USB port, then go to Step 7.<\/p>\n

    Disconnect the audio unit connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is the connector normal?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN AUDIO UNIT AND AUXILIARY JACK\/USB PORT FOR SHORT TO GROUND<\/b><\/p>\n

  • \n

    Verify that the auxiliary jack\/USB port and audio unit connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UC<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UB<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UD<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • \n

      Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:<\/p>\n

    Audio unit terminal 3C\u2014Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UA<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Audio unit terminal 3B\u2014Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UC<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Audio unit terminal 3D\u2014Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UB<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Audio unit terminal 3A\u2014Auxiliary jack\/USB port terminal UD<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
      • \n

        Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
