Headlight leveling actuator circuit malfunction<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

Detection condition<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Headlight leveling actuator circuit voltage of 3.2 V or less<\/b> is detected for 5 s or more<\/b> with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Fail-safe<\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

  • \n

    The headlight leveling actuator is stopped at the position when the malfunction is determined.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n

    Disconnect the front combination light (RH) connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Is the connector normal?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n INSPECT AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION<\/b><\/p>\n

    Disconnect the auto leveling control module connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Is the connector normal?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND<\/b><\/p>\n
    \n
  • \n

    Verify that the front combination light (LH), front combination light (RH) and auto leveling control module connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Front combination light (LH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Front combination light (LH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Front combination light (RH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Front combination light (RH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • \n

      Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:<\/p>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal P\u2014Front combination light (LH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal O\u2014Front combination light (LH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal P\u2014Front combination light (RH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal O\u2014Front combination light (RH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        \n If there is no common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
      • \n

        Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Go to Step 7.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING ACTUATOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT<\/b><\/p>\n

    Verify that the front combination light (LH), front combination light (RH) and auto leveling control module connectors are disconnected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Auto leveling control module terminal P\u2014Front combination light (LH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Auto leveling control module terminal O\u2014Front combination light (LH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Auto leveling control module terminal P\u2014Front combination light (RH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Auto leveling control module terminal O\u2014Front combination light (RH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • \n

      Is there continuity?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Yes<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Go to the next step.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:<\/p>\n

    Auto leveling control module terminal P\u2014Front combination light (LH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal O\u2014Front combination light (LH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal P\u2014Front combination light (RH) terminal I<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Auto leveling control module terminal O\u2014Front combination light (RH) terminal F<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n If there is a common connector:<\/b><\/p>\n
    • \n

      Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

No<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Replace the front combination light, then go to the next step.<\/p>\n
