{"id":9996,"date":"2017-06-08T04:12:46","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mazdaman.x10host.com\/sm353669\/"},"modified":"2017-06-08T04:12:46","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T04:12:46","slug":"sm353669","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/chroot-me.in\/16ND\/sm353669\/","title":{"rendered":"ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node node SERVICE_MANUALS\">\n    <\/p>\n<div class=\"textleft\">\n<div class=\"attr CONTENT c2\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n          <link rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text\/css\" href=\"style.css\" media=\"screen\"><a class=\"prevPage\" href=\"SM353668\">&lt; Previous<\/a> <a class=\"nextPage\" href=\"SM353670\">Next &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>2016 &#8211; MX-5 &#8211; i-ACTIVSENSE<\/h2>\n<p><a name=\"id152000001500\" id=\"id152000001500\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/h3>\n<p><b><span class=\"c1\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>The AFS control module stores the vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A new AFS control module does not store any vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>When the ignition is switched ON after the AFS control module is replaced, the AFS control module reads the vehicle specification information sent via CAN transmission from the instrument cluster, and stores the vehicle specification information.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The AFS control module records the vehicle height while it is unoccupied.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Even if the battery is disconnected, the unoccupied vehicle height recorded by the AFS control module is not erased.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The new AFS control module does not record the vehicle height while it is unoccupied.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The AFS control module reads the vehicle height information from the auto leveling sensor and records the vehicle height while it is unoccupied when the headlight auto leveling system initial setting is performed after the AFS control module is replaced.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See <a href=\"SM352783\">NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION\/CONNECTION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            2. Remove the following parts:<\/p>\n<p>              a. Passenger-side scuff plate (See <a href=\"SM356211\">SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              b. Passenger-side front side trim (See <a href=\"SM356199\">FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              c. Passenger-side A-pillar trim (See <a href=\"SM356198\">A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>              d. Passenger-side lower panel (See <a href=\"SM356210\">PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL\/INSTALLATION<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>            3. Disconnect the connector.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002659.GIF\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"absmiddle\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/16ND\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/AMXUUW00002659.GIF\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            4. Remove the nut.<\/p>\n<p>            5. Remove the AFS control module.<\/p>\n<p>            6. Install in the reverse order of removal.<\/p>\n<p>            7. Perform the AFS control module automatic configuration using the following procedure.<\/p>\n<p>              a. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 min or more.<\/p>\n<p>              b. Switch the ignition off and wait for 3 s or more.<\/p>\n<p>              c. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and complete the AFS control module automatic configuration.<\/p>\n<p>            8. Using the M-MDS, verify that DTCs U2300:54, U2300:55, or U2300:56 is not displayed.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n<p>If DTC U2300:54, U2300:55, or U2300:56 is displayed, go to the DTC troubleshooting procedure. (See <a href=\"SM353643\">DTC U2300:54 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353644\">DTC U2300:55 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE]<\/a>.) (See <a href=\"SM353645\">DTC U2300:56 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>            9. If the AFS control module is replaced with a new one, perform the headlight auto leveling system initialization.
