DETECTION CONDITION

•  Communication error to SAS control module is detected in CAN communication

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

Refer to DTC TABLE. (See DTC TABLE [DSC HU/CM].)

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Poor SAS control module installation

•  Low-G sensor malfunction in SAS control module

VERIFY IF SAS CONTROL MODULE IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED

•  Verify the SAS control module installation condition.

•  Is the installation condition normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Install the SAS control module correctly, then go to the next step.

VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC

•  Using the M-MDS, perform the SAS control module DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

(See DTC INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

•  Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

(See DTC TABLE [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

PERFORM DSC RELATED PARTS SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

•  Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC related parts sensor initialization procedure.
(See DSC RELATED PARTS SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE.)

―  Lateral acceleration sensor (low-G sensor)

―  Longitudinal acceleration sensor (low-G sensor)

―  Yaw rate sensor

•   Is the DSC sensor initialization procedure completed normally?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

•  Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the DSC HU/CM.
(See CLEARING DTC [DSC HU/CM].)

•  Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

•  Is the same DTC present?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step1

If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT

•  Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to applicable DTC inspection.

No

2		No	Go to the next step.
3	PERFORM DSC RELATED PARTS SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE • Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC related parts sensor initialization procedure. (See DSC RELATED PARTS SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE.) ― Lateral acceleration sensor (low-G sensor) ― Longitudinal acceleration sensor (low-G sensor) ― Yaw rate sensor • Is the DSC sensor initialization procedure completed normally?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step. (See DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L.H.D.].) (See DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [R.H.D.].)
4	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED • Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the DSC HU/CM. (See CLEARING DTC [DSC HU/CM].) • Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step1 If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step. 4		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [DSC HU/CM].)
5	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT • Are any DTCs present?	No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
