HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2. Insert the remover tool in the gap between the high-mount brake light cover and the rear package trim.

3. While pressing the hook in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, lift up the high-mount brake light cover in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and pull out the hook from the rear package trim.

4. Move the high-mount brake light cover in the direction of arrow shown in the figure and pull out the guide from the rear package trim.

5. Disconnect the connector.

6. Move the high-mount brake light in the direction of arrows shown in the figure and disconnect the tabs of the high-mount brake light cover from the high-mount brake light.

7. Remove the high-mount brake light.

8. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2. Remove the liftgate upper trim. (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove the bolt. (with DAB antenna amplifier)

4. Remove the fastener. (with DAB antenna amplifier)

5. Set the DAB antenna amplifier aside in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (with DAB antenna amplifier)

6. Disconnect the connector.

7. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the gap between the clip and the high-mount brake light.

Caution

• Carefully remove the clip because the housing may be damaged if an excessive force is applied while removing the clip from the high-mount brake light. If the housing is damaged, replace the high-mount brake light.

8. While pressing part A of the clip using the flathead screwdriver, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the clip from the high-mount brake light.
