REAR WIPER MOTOR INSPECTION

Rear Wiper Motor Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the rear wiper arm and blade. (See REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the liftgate lower trim. (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the connector. (See REAR WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Apply battery positive voltage to rear wiper motor terminal A and connect terminal C to the ground, and then verify the operation condition.

•  If the rear wiper motor does not operate normally, replace it. (See REAR WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)


Auto-stop Operation Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the rear wiper arm and blade. (See REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the liftgate lower trim. (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the connector. (See REAR WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Apply battery positive voltage to rear wiper motor terminal A and connect terminals B and C to the ground, and then operate the rear wiper motor.

6.  While the rear wiper motor is operating, disconnect the ground connected to terminal C.

7.  Verify that the rear wiper stops at the park position as a result of the auto-stop operating.

•  If the rear wiper does not stop at the park position, replace the rear wiper motor. (See REAR WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
