Procedure Before i-ELOOP-Related Part Servicing

Warning
•  If the terminal of one of the i-ELOOP-related parts contacts the vehicle body with the service plug of the capacitor connected, it could cause a fire and damage to electrical parts. In addition, if the terminal contacts your body, it could cause electrocution. Disconnect the service plug of the capacitor before disconnecting the i-ELOOP-related part terminal. (See SERVICE PLUG DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [i-ELOOP].)
―  For the i-ELOOP-related part terminals, refer to the “PROCEDURE BEFORE i-ELOOP-RELATED PART SERVICING”. (See PROCEDURE BEFORE i-ELOOP-RELATED PART SERVICING [i-ELOOP].)

DC-DC Converter (i-ELOOP) Removal/Installation

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Disconnect the service plug. (See SERVICE PLUG DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [i-ELOOP].)

3.  Remove the air cleaner, air hose, and the fresh air duct component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].)

4.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  If the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) is replaced with a new one, verify if the capacitor voltage (PID: CAP_V) is more than the minimum value using the M-MDS data monitor function.

•  If the capacitor voltage is less than the minimum value, charge the capacitor. (See CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) RECHARGING [i-ELOOP].)

DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) removal note

1.  To secure a removal space for the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP), detach the connectors and wiring harness clips shown in the figure and set them aside.

2.  To secure a gap between the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) and battery tray, loosen the battery clamp nut shown in the figure.

3.  Remove the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP).

4.  When replacing the DC-DC converter with a new one, remove the following parts.
