FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT INSPECTION

Note

•  The fuel gauge sender unit is located in the fuel pump unit. Therefore when replacing the fuel gauge sender unit, refer to FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the fuel pump unit. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].)

4.  Verify that the resistance at fuel pump unit terminals D and C is as follows according to the height of the float.

•  If the resistance is not within the specification, replace the fuel gauge sender unit. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [SKYACTIV-G 1.3, SKYACTIV-G 1.5].)

SKYACTIV-D 1.5

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the fuel gauge sender unit. (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Verify that the resistance at fuel gauge sender unit terminals D and C is as follows according to the height of the float.

•  If the resistance is not within the specification, replace the fuel gauge sender unit. (See FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
